Kathmandu, November 19
Former Koshi Province Minister Lila Ballav Adhikari, detained for investigation on human trafficking charges, will remain in police custody for five additional days.
Adhikari was presented at the Kathmandu District Court on Tuesday after the initial detention period approved by the court expired. The court has granted the District Police Office in Kathmandu permission to hold him for further investigation, according to a police official.
The former Minister for Internal Affairs and current UML Provincial Assembly member came under scrutiny after reportedly taking unauthorised individuals to Japan during an official visit in the second week of October.
