The All Nepal Football Association has seen off the Nepal national football team who are going to Kuwait for the second round of the World Cup Qualifiers. Coach Johan Kalin had announced the 23-member team on Thursday.
Nepal will play against the hosts, Kuwait, on September 5 and Chinese Taipei on September 10. The Nepal group also has Asian footballing powerhouse, Australia.
National Sports Council member secretary Ramesh Silwal and ANFA president Karma Chhiring Sherpa among other government officials wished success for the players. Sherpa also promised that the ANFA would give the players a cash prize if they defeated Kuwait.
Meanwhile, coach Kalin claimed his players would achieve a good result owing to recent practices. He added, “We have prepared well and improved our shortcomings. A recent friendly with Kuwait (in March) has boosted our confidence.”
The team will leave for Kuwait on Sunday.
