What does the Mohan Baidhya-led CPN (Revolutionary) Maoist think of the Constitution Amendment Bill and the CPN-UML’s protests against the same? In the eyes of the party, both the Bill and the UML protests are wrong.
The party’s political report describes the protests and the Bill as wrong. The central committee meeting of the party recently endorsed the report that party Chair Mohan Baidhya had presented. The report points that the Bill has expansionist undertones, whereas the UML protests have feudal undertones. The party said it will oppose both the Bill and the protests.

Parties had pledged to restructure the state on the bases of identity and capacity, but this has not happened, the Maoist party said. It stressed the need to carve out federal autonomous provinces on the bases of population density and self-rule incorporating ethnic identity. It highlighted the need to launch a struggle for drafting of the Constitution of a federal people’s republic (Nepal).
The party decided to expand its organisational base and launch a three-month campaign against corruption and black marketing and for abrogation of the existing Constitution. It has decided to reschedule the date for the party’s national convention, citing lack of preparations. It decided to focus more on activities related to the party organisation and struggles.
In a press release, the party said it has decided to bring revolutionary communists together, gradually.
