Kathmandu, February 7
A sexagenarian man has reportedly shot dead his daughter and set his own house on fire, in the Baitadi district of Sudurpaschim.
Dhan Bahadur Mahara, 65, is on the run after murdering Belmati Mahara in Bijayapur, Purchaudi municipality-10 of the district on Saturday afternoon, informs Police Inspector Janak Dhami at the District Police Office.
Dhan Bahadur had had a quarrel with his wife initially and later shot at the daughter and resorted to arson, according to police. He had possessed a loaded gun at home.
Although the police reached the incident site on time, the suspect was quick to run away, it has been learned. The investigators have launched a manhunt.
