Dang, March 8
An on-duty policeman died in a road accident in the Banke district of Lumbini on Monday evening. Another policeman has sustained injuries.
The victim has been identified as Nepal Police head constable Bhupendra Shahi who was on duty at Ranjha Chok of the Nepalgunj-Kohalpur road section.
Meanwhile, police constable Naresh Chaudhary and biker Santosh Bam Singh Thakuri have sustained injuries. The injured are undergoing treatment at the Nepalgunj Medical College.
Shahi and Thakuri were on the road to check passing vehicles when they were hit by Thakuri’s motorbike (Bhe 10 Pa 4757), informs DSP Madhu Sudan Neupane.
