Kathmandu, March 17
Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) is taking Binod Chaudhary’s statement concerning the Bansbari Leather Factory land grab case.
The CIB, on February 1, arrested Chaudhary’s brother Arun on charges of illegally obtaining government land.
Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in a meeting on Sunday directed Home Secretary Eknarayan Aryal and the newly appointed head of CIB, Shyam Lal Gyawali to investigate the case further.
Regarding the Bansbari land case, CIB arrested three individuals, including Arun Kumar Chaudhary, on February 1 for investigation. However, they were subsequently released after Judge Yagya Prasad Acharya of the District Court, Kathmandu, ruled that there was no necessity to detain them for further investigation.
