A massive fire has engufled Sankranti Bazaar in Terhathum district. The fire that started from the house of Agni Sedhai has already destroyed five neighbouring houses, Jivan Upreti, a local, informed.
The fire is still beyond control though local people and police are working together to extinguish the flames. Upreti informed that an excavator is demolishing houses in a desperate bid to bring the blaze under control.
According to police, lack of a fire engine and sources of water in the area has made firefighting all the more difficult. There are around 150 houses in the bazaar.
