
Kathmandu, February 21
A clash erupted between the ‘No Cable Car’ group and police in Taplejung, leaving 12 people injured on Thursday.
According to Taplejung’s Assistant Chief District Officer Sandipa Khadka, the injured include six Nepal Police personnel, five Armed Police Force personnel, and one protester.
Authorities initially used loudspeakers and water cannons to disperse the crowd. As the protest escalated, security forces responded with tear gas and baton charges. Police confirmed that more than five rounds of tear gas were fired during the confrontation.
