Taplejung, April 27
One person died and two others were injured in a lightning strike in Maiwakhola of the Taplejung district in eastern Nepal on Wednesday.
The victim has been identified as Dorchi Sherpa (11), a resident of Tamrang, Maiwakhola-4, whereas the injured are the child’s parents.
They were struck by lightning during dinner at around 9 pm yesterday.
Injured critically, all three were taken to the District Hospital in an ambulance, but doctors declared the child dead upon arrival. The parents are undergoing treatment.
