Bollywood screenwriter Bhavani Iyer to conduct screenwriting workshop in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, February 20

Renowned Bollywood screenwriter and novelist Bhavani Iyer will train Nepali film writers in screenwriting. Shikshya Foundation Nepal is organising a screenwriting workshop from March 17 to 20.

Shikshya Foundation is a social initiative led by renowned Nepali-American fashion designer Prabal Gurung. The workshop, titled “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” is being organised in collaboration with Kathasatha. Interested participants can apply until March 7.

Iyer is known for writing critically acclaimed Indian films such as Black, Guzaarish, Lootera, Raazi, and Sam Bahadur. She made her screenwriting debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black.

She has also written popular Indian web series, including Kaafir, Breathe: Into the Shadows, and The Empire. Her upcoming film, Kamal Aur Meena, is produced by Saregama.

Iyer has also worked on Lori, a film produced by Salman Khan and Atul Agnihotri, directed by Meghna Gulzar. In addition to her screenwriting career, she has served as the editor of Stardust magazine and authored the novel Anon.
