Kathmandu, August 27
The British government has donated 130,000 doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines to Nepal to help the country expand its vaccine coverage.
British Ambassador to Nepal Nicola Pollitt handed over the vaccines to State Minister for Health and Population, Umesh Shrestha, on Thursday evening.
On the occasion, Ambassador Pollitt said her government had been regularly providing support including ventilators and personal protective equipment for the health workers in the past also.
Pollitt clarified it was not a part of the support via the Covax facility but that of the UK-Nepal bilateral cooperation.
Meanwhile, Minister Shrestha thanked the British government for the help.
