Kathmandu, August 23
Eight people died in a bus accident in Gajuri of Dhading on Wednesday. Locals say the bus plunged into the Trishuli river around 11 am.
The bus ( Povince 3-01-005 Kha 9952) fell song 40 metres from the road into the Trishuli river. Eight people have been reported injured in the accident.
District Police Office, Dhading, said six men and two women have been reported dead so far.
“We rescued 16 people from the incident site. Eight were dead and eight are still alive. They are being treated at a local hospital,” said DSP Santu Jaiswal.
Rescue efforts are underway.
