Chitwan, June 15
At least three persons died on the spot and seven others sustained injuries in a truck-microbus collision along the Prithvi Highway in Chitwan this morning. The truck fell onto the bank of Trishuli River after the incident.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained, police said.
The incident occurred when the truck (Na 6 Kha 4064) heading towards Muglin from Kathmandu collided with the microbus (Ga 1 Kha 7692) coming from the opposite direction at Panidhara of Chumglintar in Chitwan at around 7:25 am on Friday.
The microbus was heading towards Kathmandu from Pokhara.
The injured have been rescued and rushed to Bharatpur for treatment. Only the identity of truck driver Suresh Bal, a permanent resident of Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City of Makawanpur, was established.
Police are looking into the case.
