Chitwan, May 9
As many as three police personnel were injured when they were allegedly attacked by the locals of Chaukidanda of Rapti municipality-5 in eastern Chitwan on Friday night.
The locals have also vandalised two vehicles (Ba 1 Jha 7465 and Ba 12 Cha 271) belonging to the Area Police Office and Ratnanagar municipality. In retaliation, the police have fired a round of bullets in the air.
The injured personnel have been identified as Awadesh Prasad Yadav, Lukesh Jargha, and Sujan Baraili, informs the Chitwan District Police Office. Yadav was mildly injured whereas the two others are out of danger.
A team of police was returning after seizing 34 kg marijuana from Rapti municipality-34 when they were attacked at around 9:30 pm yesterday.
Police arrested four locals, including Ranjit Waiba (24), Suman Waiba (20), Sanch Ram Ghalan (22) and Dhan Bahadur Ghalan (35), after the incident.
