Civic Polls: Election Commission starts printing ballot papers

Kathamandu, March 19

Nepal’s Election Commission starts printing over 16 million ballot papers for the May 14 civic elections.

The commission decided to go ahead with the task after officials approved samples of the ballot papers test-printed on Saturday. Nepali Army has been assigned to secure the commission the premises of the Janak Education Materials Centre in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, where the ballots are being printed.

According to the commission, more than 14 million voters have been registered for the upcoming polls. The commission expects the ballot papers to be ready within 42 days.
