Kathmandu, July 6
Some private hospitals have been found charging Covid-19 patients even though they committed to providing free treatment and later received reimbursements from the government.
The Ministry of Health and Population had received nine complaints against various hospitals and hence had launched an investigation.
The investigation done by the five-member team led by the assistant spokesperson Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari confirmed the complaint, says Adhikari.
The hospitals found guilty are Birat Medical College Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar, Nepal Medical College and Manmohan Memorial Hospital in Kathmandu.
However, the ministry is yet to listen to the hospitals and the investigation will be over after their response, he says.
Dr Adhikari says appropriate action will be taken against the hospitals.
