Kathmandu, July 19
Project HOPE, a global health and humanitarian organisation based in Washington, DC, has provided medical supplies to the Pratiman-Neema Memorial Foundation (PNMF), a non-profit organisation based in the Rupandehi district of Lumbini worth USD 660,240.30.
A chartered flight from the United States has landed in Nepal on Sunday.
Acting upon the appeal made by the Pratiman-Neema Memorial Foundation to help in countering the deadly second wave of COVID-19 pandemic and preparedness for the third wave, the Project HOPE, with partner organisations Airlink, Flexport.org, Henry Schein Cares, and MedShare supported large shipments of medical supplies, the Nepali organisation said in a statement.
Project HOPE provided 20,000 gowns, 19,440 face shields, 70,000 masks, 15,000 N95 masks, 40 digital thermometers, 15,750 protective face shields, 2,304 PPE coveralls (medium), 2,304 PPE coveralls (large), 30 emergency relief beds, 1,400,000 gloves (disposable) and 1,28,000 KN95 masks.
“We are very pleased and happy to receive the generous support and a large donation of crucial medical supplies; we thank Project HOPE for their continuous support and partnership and other international organisations for their support, efforts, and contribution towards fighting the Covid-19 pandemic in Nepal,” the PNMF Executive Director Swati Thapa said in the statement.
