Kathmandu, November 27

The online process for obtaining a labour permit has been disrupted for two days due to server issues at the Department of Foreign Employment.

The Department said it was conducting repairs to the Foreign Employment Information Management System server. This means activities like acquiring new institutional and individual labour permits, as well as renewing old permits have been suspended since Sunday.

The Department says it is actively addressing the problem to restore normalcy to its online services.

Madan Dahal, the Director General of the department, has reported that the department is currently transferring its data files to the Government Integrated Data Center in Singhadarbar. As a result of this ongoing transfer, certain functions, such as uploading new documents into the department’s system, have been temporarily halted.

Despite these limitations, Dahal says that other essential tasks and operations within the department continue as usual.

“It will come into operation from today evening or tomorrow morning,” said Dahal.
