The House of Representatives is set to hold a direct question-and-answer session with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today. The session, scheduled for 1 pm, will allow members of parliament to raise questions directly to the Prime Minister, who will provide immediate responses.
This session is being conducted under Chapter 9 of the House of Representatives Rules, 2079 BS, which mandates regular interaction between the Prime Minister and lawmakers on pressing national issues.
In addition to the Q&A session, today’s parliamentary agenda includes several key items. There is a plan to reorganise members within specific subject committees, and MP Tasim Karki is expected to raise a public concern regarding the need for effective prediction, control, and rapid response mechanisms in the event of a health crisis due to a potential cholera outbreak.
Furthermore, the session will address an objection notice by MP Prem Suwal regarding a proposal to seek permission for the introduction of the Securities Bill (First Amendment) 2081 BS. Following this, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel is expected to present the Securities Bill.
The agenda also includes a proposal for the introduction of the Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility (First Amendment) Bill 2081 BS, with MP Prem Suwal raising an objection notice for discussion.
