Kathmandu, April 23
The main opposition CPN-UML on Sunday said the government should hold the second phase elections before announcing the budget on May 29.
While the government has already decided to hold the polls on June 14, the UML Parliamentary Party meeting held today urged the government to complete the polls before the budget announcement.
The UML has argued that the election code of conduct bars the government from presenting the budget plan for next fiscal.
Speaking in the meeting, party Chairman and PP leader KP Sharma Oli said he had told Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal the same thing during the meeting held earlier today.
