Lawmakers from the CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist Centre warned on Sunday that changing boundaries of Province 5 will have disastrous consequences. They made it clear that they will not keep quite if any party tries to realign the border.
Baij Nath Chaudhary, lawmaker from the UML, warned that including hill districts of Province 5 to Provinces 4 and 6 will not be acceptable.
This is no time to amend the Constitution, this is the time to implement it.
Chaudhary, who represents Nawalparasi constituency number 4, said during zero hour in the Parliament: Inclusion of hill districts of Province 5 to other Provinces is not acceptable to us. This is no time to amend the Constitution, this is the time to implement it.
He warned all concerned not to lay their hands on Province 5, which includes Tarai and hill districts from Parasi (Nawalparasi) to Bardiya. Chaudhary cautioned that any attempt to realign Province 5 will set off movements in other provinces as well.
