Citing the risk of coronavirus infection, the National Examination Board says each school operating as exam centres for the final grade 12 examinations to be held next month to have a health desk compulsorily.
The board has implemented a new guideline on the evaluation, operation, management, orientation, and verification of the exams including strict safety provisions so as to minimise the risk of virus infection.
The board has directed schools to coordinate with local governments and health facilities to operate health centres.
The exams, previously scheduled for April, were postponed due to the coronavirus infections across the country. However, as the virus spread did not show any sign of subsiding for months, the board recently decided to conduct the examinations maintaining possible security measures.
The board has urged coronavirus positive examinees not to take the exams, assuring it will conduct the exams for them once they recover. Such students have to show their coronavirus positive reports to get their tests rescheduled.
The exams will be held for just 40 per cent weight of each subject whereas the remaining 40 per cent will be calculated from the student’s score in the 11th grade and 20 per cent from the school’s internal evaluation.
