Kathmandu, August 11
Owing to protests by the students and demands submitted by student wings of ruling parties, the government has decided to provide Covid-19 vaccines to students of the Tribhuvan University, the biggest university in the country, who are attending examinations at different levels.
Dr Jhalak Sharma Gautam, the chief of the Vaccination Section in the Department of Health Services, says the decision has been made with an immediate effect.
In the case of Kathmandu, the students can go to vaccination centres located at Nepal Police Hospital, Nepal Army Hospital, Armed Police Force Hospital, and Radha Swami Isolation Centre. They will have to show their exam admit card to get the vaccines.
The ministry expects around 60,000 students will get the vaccination as per this decision.
