Kathmandu, January 9
Nepal Police have once again detained medical education reform campaigner Dr Govinda KC for protesting at Maitighar Mandala.
KC was detained by Nepal Police from Maitighar Mandala, a no-protest zone, on January 6 as well.
Govinda KC has been presenting a set of demands, urging the government to fulfil the past agreements made to him.
He has also demanded the removal of prohibited areas, immediate completion of the transitional justice process, and the expedited appointment of directors to the Medical Education Commission.
While expressing his demands, he had a tape over his mouth and held a playing card outlining his points. However, the police detained him for participating in a demonstration in a no-protest zone.
Alongside KC, Pawan Thapa and other youth activists are also currently in police custody.
KC has raised objections to the imposition of a protest ban on Maitighar Mandala, stating that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and his coalition partners are violating human rights and undermining democracy and the constitutional system of the country.
