Bhuwan Singh Gurung has been elected as the President of Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies (NAFEA).
Gurung won the election by defeating Naresh Gelal by a margin of 61 votes, according to the election results announced on Saturday. Gurung secured 428 votes while Gelal bagged 367 votes.
Gurung is the former Second Vice-president of NAFEA and the Director of Gurung Management Pvt Ltd.
Similarly, Mahesh Kumar Basnet has been elected as the General Secretary. Basnet secured 423 votes while his closest rival Karna Raj Katuwal got 362 votes. Likewise, Kunchha Dorje Dimdung has been elected as the Secretary and Dhanmaya Sinjali as the Treasurer.
Rekha Sharma, Krishna Dhakal, Bharat Sapkota, Ramkaji Bholan, Suvarna Lama, Hima Gurung, Rama Khadka, Devi Prasad Giri, Suman Raj Pandey and Bidya Laxmi Bajracharya have been elected as members, said Deepak Thapa, president of Nepal Democratic Foreign Employment Entrepreneurs Association.
Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies-NAFEA is the umbrella organisation of 853 recruiting agencies in Nepal. Its primary aim is to ensure the safe migration by defending the rights of both the workers and member organizations.
