Kathmandu, May 16
Independent candidate Temba Gurung has won the election held for chairperson of Dolpo Buddha Rural Municipality in upper Dolpa.
Gurung garnered 553 votes to defeat CPN-UML’s Kyaljan Gurung who was restricted to 311 votes.
Likewise, Malam Tasi Gurung was elected the vice-chairperson.
He is the second independent candidate to win the election.
Earlier, Raju Bista in Dalome Rural Municipality had won the election in Mustang district.
