Shel Gumba in Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipality-3 has officially announced the celebration of the 67th Shelri Dugdra Festival. This festival is celebrated once every 12 years and this year it is celebrated from September 1 to 4 in Shel Gumba, Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipality-3.
According to the organisers, the main objective of the festival is to circumambulate Shelri Dugdra and to draw the government’s attention to the challenges and opportunities of Dolpa.
“Another major objective of this festival is to conserve the heritage and preserve the decade-long culture and traditions of Dolpa,” said Pema Wangchen Gurung, vice-chair of Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipality. “The festival will also feature other activities like free health camp, horse race and hiking to see snow leopards.”
Through this festival, we aim to promote tourism throughout Dolpa, said Gurung.
