Kailash Sirohiya appeals to SC against arrest warrant

Kathmandu, May 21

Kantipur Media Group Chairperson Kailash Sirohiya approached the Supreme Court against the arrest warrant issued by the District Court, Dhanusha.

He approached the Supreme Court demanding that the District Court Dhanusha’s permission to arrest him should be revoked.

He has made the Ministry of Home Affairs, Police Head Office, District Police Office Dhanusha and other opponents in the petition. He approached the Supreme Court with a writ petition. The writ petition has not been registered after being submitted to the court.

Sirohiya went to the Supreme Court against the police trying to arrest him on May 7. The petition was not heard after the court invited both parties to discuss the interim order.

The police have started an investigation against Sirohiya saying that there is a defect in his citizenship. An arrest warrant was also obtained from the district court on Tuesday.
