Kathmandu, June 7

Rastriya Prajatantra Party chairman Kamal Thapa has launched the second phase of party’s ‘independence journey’ in Muktinath of Mustang district in western Nepal on Friday.

The journey has aimed at revitalising the party organisation in some districts of Gandaki Province. It will pass through Myagdi, Baglung, Parvat, Kaski and Lamjung districts.

The movement will conclude in Gorkha district on Monday, according to the party’s assistant general secretary Raja Ram Bartaula.

After launching the journey in Muktinath, Thapa addressed mass meetings in Ranipauwa and Jomsom of the district today, reiterating the demand for reinstatement of a Hindu state. He was of the view that Hindutwa was an identity of Nepal and Nepali citizens.

Likewise, his deputy Buddhi Man Tamang said attacks on religion and culture were rife of late, calling on the citizens to stay alert to protect them.
