Kathmandu, June 11
Youth representing various sectors staged a mass protest outside the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday. Police used tear gas shells and water cannons to disperse the protestors.
A similar protest was organised in Kathmandu just two days ago.
The protestors demanded that the government ensure transparency in the spendings made in the Country’s Covid-19 response, and stop rapid diagnostic tests.
SSP Shyam Lal Gyawali, the chief of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, says some protestors have been detained as they demonstrated in the restricted zone.
