3 levels of govts spend Rs 10 billion on Covid-19 response in 6 months

Kathmandu, February 11

Federal, provincial and local governments have spent around Rs 10 billion on Covid-19 response in the first half of the current fiscal year.

According to the Ministry of Finance records, the government spent Rs 9.692 billion from mid-July 2021 to mid-January 2022.

Of that amount, the federal government spent Rs 7.745 billion whereas seven provincial governments spent Rs 1.881 billion in total. Likewise, 753 local governments mobilised Rs 66.6 million.

In the previous fiscal year, the governments at three levelshad spent Rs 13.314 billion in total. The federal government alone had spent Rs 10.73 billion.
