Kathmandu, November 20
Locals of Khokana in Lalitpur have opposed the construction of Kathmandu-Terai fast track claiming the government has not compensated them for the acquisition of their land.
The locals obstructed construction works at local Khudol on Friday. Krishna Dangol, the treasurer of the local Janasarokar Samiti, says the government expedited construction works in individual property without informing them in advance.
He further says the project aims at forcefully removing the human settlement and other forms of cultural heritage in Khokana.
The District Administration Office had mobilised a police troop so as to avoid any untoward incident in the area.
