Kavre, May 19
CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said his party cadres need to work hard again to maintain the party’s lead in the second phase of local level elections.
Oli, who had gone to Banepa of Kavrepalanchok district to celebrate the party’s victory in the mayoral race of the city, said the UML should make people aware about agendas of his and other parties to perform better.
A sarcastic Oli said he wondered why the Nepali Congress, “already fallen from its ideology”, garnered so much votes.
“The UML has done so many works. It has taken a stance on nationalism,” he said, “Despite that, why is the Congress on a par with the UML?”
The UML had won in Banepa for the first time, which was otherwise considered a stronghold of Nepali Congress.
