Kathmandu, April 30
Actor CP Lohani passed away on April 29 at the age of 86. He is known as the lead actor of the first privately-produced hit Nepali movie Maitighar. He was suffering from Alzheimer’s as well as pneumonia. Lohani died in the course of treatment at Maitighar-based Annapurna Neuro Hospital, said Lohani’s nephew and journalist, Bikas Prasad Lohani.
He had served at the Ministry of Finance and Industry Ministry as well as worked as the director of the Biratnagar Jute Mills and Raghupati Jute Mills. Lohani was also a renowned personality in the film and music sector.
He was married to famed Bollywood actress Mala Sinha, who was his co-star in the movie Maitighar. His final rites were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Monday.
