Kathmandu, March 16
Kathmandu Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya on Wednesday ‘inaugurated’ an overhead bridge at Maitighar of Kathmandu. Interestingly, the bridge is already in operation since June 2020.
As the next local elections are approaching closer, the mayor unveiled an inscription on one side of the bridge this morning, surprising people who were crossing the road that time.
On the occasion, Shakya said the city government had been allocating around Rs 80 million every year for its overhead bridge construction campaign.
He also complained the city had not been able to construct the bridges as many as it wanted due to narrow pedestrian pavements.
