Kathmandu, December 27
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has issued instructions for community schools nationwide to incorporate lessons about senior citizens every Wednesday.
The Ministry communicated its directive to the Education and Human Resource Development Center, urging them to include a class on senior citizens within the social studies curriculum on Wednesdays.
Usha Lamichhane, a branch officer from the Ministry of Education, stated in a letter that the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens had specifically requested these classes on senior citizens in social studies classes.
National Senior Citizens Day is observed nationwide on December 27, under the theme ‘Respect for senior citizens, identity of our civilisation.’
Moreover, on this occasion, Sandhya Kumari Yadav, Women’s Development Officer at the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, sent a letter to the Ministry of Education, seeking the integration of lessons about senior citizens.
