A minor died and eight people were left injured in a bus accident in Deukhuri of Dang along the East-West highway.
The deceased minor was nine-month-old Nanu Alam, an Indian national, who had sustained injuries in the accident. The body is being kept at a morgue in Kohalpur Medical College.
The bus (Na 5 Kha) was travelling at a high speed when the accident occurred and it fell some 20 metres off the road during the wee hours of Monday. It was en route to Surkhet from Birgunj, police said.
Other injured people sustained minor injuries and have been discharged after they received treatment at the Lamahi Hospital.
Police have arrested the bus driver.
