Biratnagar, March 14
A 66-year-old man has been arrested on the charge of raping an eight-year-old girl in Ratuwai municipality of the Morang district in eastern Nepal.
Phaudilal Mukhiya is accused of raping a child with a speaking disability who was collecting fodders in the area, inform police.
The victim, meanwhile, is undergoing treatment at the Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar, according to DSP Man Bahadur Rai, the District Police Office spokesperson. Investigators are also waiting for some medical checkup reports.
Rai says the incident took place at around 3 pm last Friday. The victim’s sisters who were also collecting fodders nearby had seen the crime and reported it.
Further investigation is underway.
