The chief priest of Bhairavnath temple in Palpa has been suspended following accusations of sexual abuse.
Jeetnath Yogi, a 70-year-old, the main priest of Bhairavnath temple in Ribdikot rural municipality of Palpa, has been suspended due to allegations of sexually abusing women who visited the temple for worship.
Following the public revelation of the sexual abuse of female pilgrims by priest Yogi, chair of the Temple Management Committee Govinda Bahadur Pokharel announced that he had been suspended.
The committee said such actions will not be tolerated.
Yogi is facing accusations of molesting women who visited the temple by inappropriately touching their sensitive areas while offering prasad.
