Kathmandu, August 4
The government has removed Nepal Airlines Corporation Executive Chairman Ubaraj Adhikari from his position.
A cabinet meeting held on Thursday made the decision.
Adhikari was suspended from his job on June 20 after he was accused of misbehaving with staff and getting involved in irregularities. The government had also formed an investigation committee to look into the charges, apparently in preparation to oust him.
Adhikari had filed a case at the Supreme Court against the suspension and got reinstated after two weeks, but the government ultimately removed him from the position.
Appointed in October 2021, Adhikari could not make any significant progress towards saving the troubled institution, according to observers.
