Chitwan, September 12
The Narayangadh-Muglin road in Chitwan district has reopened for two way traffic movement from Wednesday afternoon, after 36 hours after the obstruction.
Multiple landslides on Monday night had obstructed the vital road connecting Kathmandu Valley and Pokhara to the East-West Highway.
One way traffic had resumed on the highway since Tuesday evening.
Information Officer at the Narayangadh-Muglin Road Project Shiva Khanal informs that the full-fledged movement resumed after the landslide debris was completely removed from Charkilo. Incessant rainfall till late afternoon yesterday had delayed the clearing works.
Despite the resumption, there is a heavy pressure of vehicles on both sides of the road, according to him.
Those worst hit by the obstruction were women heading towards their homes or parents’ homes for Teej celebration.
