Kathmandu, April 23

The National Reconstruction Authority has approved a proposal on turning Laprak of Gorkha district, which suffered a huge damage in last year’s earthquakes, into a ‘smart vilage’. NRA gave its nod to the Non-Resident Nepalis’ Association proposal.

As per the plan, a modern village comprising 1,000 houses will spring up in Laprak, NRA Spokesperson Ram Prasad Thapaliya informed. The NRNA is building a model village comprising 1,000 modern private housing units with its own money. The government has already endorsed the NRNA’s comprehensive reconstruction plan.

The NRNA will also build an earthquake memorial park in Barpak, another Gorkha village that suffered a huge damage in last year’s quakes. President Bidhya Bhandari will lay the foundation stone for this park project on Sunday.

The NRA has given Dhurmus Suntali Foundation the all-clear for the construction of a model village in Gircho.

It has also given ADRA Development the permission to rebuild a school building and a health centre in Ghyangfedi of Nuwakot district.
