Nepal’s national football side beat Macau 1-0 in the final of the AFC Solidarity Cup in Malaysia to lift the title, the first ever at the Asian level.
Nepal’s Sujal Shrestha headed a cross from Bharat Khawas in 29th minute to give Nepal lead in the match. With both sides failing to score again in the 90 minutes of play, Nepal became the winner.
This is the first time that Nepal have won an Asian level football tournament. The government has announced it will provides Rs 300,000 to each member of the winning team as its token of appreciation.
