Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,030 new cases, 1,000 recoveries, 10 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 890,256 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,030 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 5,893 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 812 returned positive. Likewise, 4,971 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 218 tested positive.

Of total tests, 13.77 per cent of the PCR and 4.38 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 9.47 per cent.

As of today, there are 16,606 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,152 are hospitalised, 351 in intensive care units and 118 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,000 people have achieved recovery whereas 10 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 770,224 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,174 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.4 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 120,548 people were vaccinated today.
