Kathmandu, August 11
The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 23,948 as of Tuesday afternoon.
In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 638 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 10,462 swab samples were tested. So far, 462,698 people have been tested in the country.
Of the total cases so far, 16,664 people have achieved recovery whereas 83 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 171 people have been discharged whereas four deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 69.6 per cent.
The other 7,201 cases are active currently.
The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Manang, Mustang, Dolpa and Humla do not have any active cases.
Over 11,000 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
