Kathmandu, October 6
The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 892,267 as of Wednesday afternoon.
The ministry said 1,043 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 11,165 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 849 returned positive. Likewise, 4,300 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 194 tested positive.
Of total tests, 7.6 per cent of the PCR and 4.51 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 6.74 per cent.
As of today, there are 16,194 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,219 are hospitalised, 338 in intensive care units and 115 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 891 people have achieved recovery whereas 12 deaths have been reported.
Of the total cases so far, 772,229 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,192 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.6 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.
Meanwhile, 59,376 people were vaccinated today.
