Kathmandu, April 24
Nepal’s Army has said that it will sponsor the education of Sonish Awale, the then six-month-old boy rescued from the rubble of his own home 22 hours after the April 25 quake.
Awale, his parents and sister were invited to the army’s headquarters in Kathmandu by CoAS Rajendra Chhetri on Sunday.
According to a statement, the army will pay Sonish’s fees to go to any school the family wants to send him to, and when he reaches grade six, he will get a seat at the army’s school in Bhaktapur, where he will be able to complete his college.
