Nepal opposition parties to continue House obstruction, stage protests against Amendment Bill

Kathmandu, December 19

Opposition parties, including the main opposition CPN-UML, on Monday decided to continue obstructing the Parliament against the  government-sponsored Constitution Amendment Bill.

Eight opposition parties made this decision during a meeting at the office of the UML Parliamentary Party in Singhadurbar.  Shiva Lal Thapa, an opposition leader, said the meeting decided to obstruct the Parliament on Monday as well.

The parties also decided to organise a protest assembly at Open Theatre on January 1 in support of the movement against the Bill, he informed.
