Kathmandu, August 1
President Bidhya Bhandari on Monday called political parties to expedite the process for the formation of a majority government.
The presidential call comes after the expiry of the weeklong deadline for the formation of a national consensus government.
Basudev Sharma ‘Babin’, press adviser to Speaker Onsari Gharti, informed: The Parliament Secretariat received a letter from the Office of the President on Monday. In the letter, President has called for the formation of a new government on the basis of majority, as per Article 258 (3).
The secretariat will prepare and present the timetable for election of PM at Monday’s Parliament meeting. It has called the House meeting at 3 pm.
