Kathmandu, October 6
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said on Thursday he will take what he called ‘special initiatives’ for early construction of the road connecting Damak of Jhapa district with China via Ilam, Panchthar and Taplejung, which is known as Falgunanda Marg.
He said this during a meeting with a delegation comprising political leaders seeking completion of the project, officials of Falgunanda Marg Consumers Committee and entrepreneurs.
The road will ease the lives of people living in Jhapa, Taplejung, Ilam and Panchthar districts
The construction of the road will ease the lives of people living in the four districts (Jhapa, Taplejung, Ilam and Panchthar), Prachanda said. That’s why the road is very important, Prachanda said.
Prachanda said he will have a discussion with National Planning Commission on allocating budget separately for this project and putting the project in a different category.
Consumer committee Chair Gagan Puri, Minister for General Administration Keshav Budhathoki, former Minister Agni Kharel and Tanka Angbuhang, among others, had submitted a memorandum to press for early completion of the project to PM Prachanda.
